About Mossroom
Mossroom exists because terrarium advice on the internet is a mess.
If you've ever tried to build one, you know. Reddit threads go in circles. YouTube tutorials contradict each other. Blog posts from 2011 say things that may or may not still be true. Nobody actually explains why — they just tell you what to do.
We're not master horticulturists. We're people who got tired of being confused by our own hobby. So we built the resource we wished existed: one place, clear answers, honest about what we don't know.
What you'll find here
- Care guides that explain the reasoning, not just the steps
- Plant profiles for species that actually work in jars
- Where to source moss, driftwood, and the hard-to-find stuff
- Diagnosis help when something's dying and you don't know why
What you won't find
- Fake expertise. If we don't know, we say so.
- Sponsored posts disguised as guides
- AI-written content that sounds helpful but isn't
- Gatekeeping about who counts as a "real" hobbyist
Who this is for
Anyone who's ever killed a terrarium and wants to figure out why. Beginners looking for a clear starting point. People who like tiny worlds and want company while they figure it out.
You don't need a green thumb. You need clear information and a community that helps when things go sideways. That's what we're building.
